Testing and Tagging is the process in which a portable electrical appliance is tested to ensure that it is safe for use.
of appliance testing involves the following:
- Visual Inspection - the application shall be checked to ensure that it is in good physical condition and there are no obvious signs
- Electrical Testing - the appliance is then tested with a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) to test for any unseen electrical
faults. These tests can include earth continuity, wiring polarity, insulation resistance and leakage current.
- Record Keeping
- once the appliance is tested a record of the appliance is created. It will include the test outcome, appliance number, test date,
