WHAT IS TESTING AND TAGGING?
Testing and Tagging is the process in which a portable electrical appliance is tested to ensure that it is safe for use.

The process of appliance testing involves the following:
WHY TEST AND TAG?
Having your workplace tested and tagged helps to avoid the risk of injury to an employee, client or other third party. Compliance with Occupations Health and Safety requires that an employer must, so for as reasonably practical, provide and maintain a working environment that is safe and without risks to health. The only way to ensure your electrical equipment is safe is to have it tested for safety.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE TAGGED?
Any plug-in electrical appliance in a work environment or public place must be tested. Such as hand held tools, computers, extension leads, power boards, office equipment and 3-phase equipment.

The frequency of testing can vary dependant on the environment the appliance is being used. The harsher the environment in which it is being used the more often it is required to be tested.
